![]() Skills for Success is a 3-hour elective credit course designed to assist students who would benefit from an intensive program of academic assistance. Methods for improving reading comprehension, listening and memory skills, and developing note-taking and study strategies are all a part of this useful class. Written and oral communication skills are also discussed and developed. This course examines learning and thinking processes with an emphasis on experiential application of effective reading, writing, and study strategies. Areas of study include information processing theory, cognitive and behavioral influences in motivation and concentration, assessment of learning and thinking styles and development of an individualized learning profile for efficient and effective learning and review strategies.
